I see registration closing at 1230, but if I'm only going for melee (and have a 2 hr drive to get there) I'd just as soon sleep in a bit, especially given that I'm still out hanging out after work. Am I just ****ed, or is there some leeway there?

I don't remember who used to host tournaments there, but I definitely drove over from nola for at least one melee event over there, might have been more. So it's definitely happened in the past.

Try getting with and books too for your venue if they still exist. I remember going to tournaments there for smash, magic, all sorts of ****. It's a pretty tight place.

That might have actually gotten me to enter a brawl tournament. That'd be a first.

Believe me I feel you on the work thing. Last paycheck I showed over 100 hours. We are maaaaaad understaffed now.

We play more melee than project m, but there's certainly some of both happening. I've been working like a dog lately so I haven't been able to play as much as I'd like, but I'll hit you up next time we get something going.

If new orleans is your general area then yes, there's a decent number of us. If you're into melee/project m there's a lot of us over near tulane/uptown/midcity, as well as a few out in metarie. Pm me a phone number and I'll try to hit you up next time we smash.

Marth can also just swat most of those projectiles out of the air with his sword (maybe not arrows? can't remember). Get proficient at that and you should find all that flying crap much more manageable.

I remember a couple of older threads back in the mid-late 2000s about this. I think husband and wife may have made one, and maybe king (old-school top jiggs for you newer folks here) did one too. If you dig a bit you should be able to find those, and team strategy is one of those things that...

Don't know if you have any interest in melee samsora (or transportation), but there's a lot of it happening in nola. We play pretty regularly over in the tulane area. More people are always welcome, and it'd be cool to not be the only peach in the area.

Oh, also I'm off for the next 2 days and haven't been able to smash for a while. Interested in correcting that. Wouldn't necessarily be opposed to driving over to BR to hang out if people are doing anything of consequence on sunday (probably not monday though).

I get most of these, but I didn't think project m took a significantly longer time than melee. Granted i haven't really spent a lot of time with project m. You wouldn't run 4 stock for that?
