Its almost definitely 51x51 characters (counting the Mii fighters as 3 makes the total 51). Don't think there is anything there - if there was Day 1 DLC they would have just announced it to increase the hype if they announced Mewtwo.

For me the obvious benefit to having the 3DS version was that I travel for work and can play it on my flights. That it came out first doesn't change the fact that I would have gotten it either way.

Smash 4 for 3DS was made for the 3DS so if the small screen causes a reviewer to have issues playing - it's both a hardware and a software problem....it's not like he can choose to play Smash 4 for 3DS on his PC or something... And what does LoZ: ST have to do with this? It wasn't reviewed by...

I don't think anyone is saying the 3DS will have 8 players - the Wii U might with 3DS acting as a controller when linked (meaning I don't think you would use your 3DS display to view the fight, just as a controller.)

It would be disappointing if they released a "Villains" game that didn't feature the characters a lot of people are used to playing with and didn't connect to regular Smash 4 but I think most would buy it still. I just don't see the point of the OP question I guess...if the ask is what a roster...

If they are actually alternate costumes I'd likely pay for all of them - especially new characters as alternate costumes.

That number of extra characters seems extremely unlikely. There clearly is a lot of development that goes into new characters so if there are any in DLC I'd expect it to be ones that were worked on but not finished in time for the actual release / needed extra refinement. I mean what game can...

It's really not unfair because what actually happened was both versions of the game were constrained in certain aspects by what the lesser hardware could handle. A 3DS owner whose paying $39.99 for a game should not reasonably expect the same content as a Wii U owner paying $59.99. I know both...
