Smash Wii U "There are 2600 fighter combinations!" but 50x50= 2500... One more character?

During the 50 fact extravaganza, there was a point where Mr. Announcer was talking about trophy rush, and he mentioned how it can also be 2 player, and noted that there were twenty six hundred unique fighter combinations.
Here's where it gets interesting.
So taking our current number of characters- 49 -times itself, we get 2401
Oh haha he must be counting Mewtwo! Alright so 50 times 50 is 2500, that makes more sen- wait, only 2500?
Um... How about we try 51?
Yep, fifty one squared equals twenty six hundred one, which is pretty darned close to what the announcer said.
But we only have fifty.
This could mean there must be another yet unrevealed character.

He probably didn't count Mewtwo since he isn't in the launch version. However, he likely did count all three Mii Fighters as seperate.

Eventually, he got enough likes, and revealed it confirmation of two heroes.

Those heroes's names? Mewtwo and Snake.

Perhaps the count was not including Mewtwo. Every character plus 3 mii fighters is 51....Or maybe there is indeed one other DLC character that we dont know of...the possibilities are endless..It's not like it's out of the question that there is bound to be at least ONE other DLC character. To further prove this, there are trophies for all three Mii types, so you'd have to play Classic Mode up to three times to get all three of their trophies (same applies to All-Star Mode).

Why would they count as one? I think what Nintendo was trying to do here was to impress with a high number - so why would they count 3 Characters as one to effectively reduce the.. uhrm.... "wow factor"?

I can see Isaac getting in. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up throwing in Bayonetta in later as DLC ( would be awesome ).

Its almost definitely 51x51 characters (counting the Mii fighters as 3 makes the total 51). Don't think there is anything there - if there was Day 1 DLC they would have just announced it to increase the hype if they announced Mewtwo.

Mii Fighters can be separate characters, so that totals to 51 characters. Sorry, but this didn't confirm anything.

Just remember, Mii Fighters have 3 unique movesets. The main reason for them to share a slot is since it's easier to create any kind in one area. The way customization actually works makes having them in one slot easier to create them without any hassles. The only weakness is you're limited to 8 different ones on the 3DS version. Despite what, 10 different customs per regular character? -_-

Each type of Mii Fighter has a separate, unique moveset, so they are counted as separate.

If we consider Mewtwo (who was announced after the announcer talked about co-op Trophy Rush), we have 52 x 52 = 2704 combinations.
