I've been toying around with it; either I'm not doing it correctly or it doesn't seem to be very advantageous. Could you Zelda players testify to applying/integrating SHFFL with Zelda?

Shffling Zelda's fair/bair is a common strategy for Zelda players, and in fact, almost a necessity. The idea is to hit your opponent with the lightning kick as you're going up when SHing. Then fast fall, and L-cancel. If you miss, you might even be able to avoid punishment. This strat is a great way to deal with an enemy running at you, or can also be used to edgeguard.

Ahh the many ways to use lightning kicks.

Shorthop -> Fastfall -> Kick

Shorthop -> Kick -> Doublejump (you'll be thankful it's so small) -> Kick -> Kick

Shorthop -> Kick (into shield) -> Kick

Shorthop -> Kick (into shield) -> Doublejump over target -> Fastfall -> Reverse Kick

Shorthop -> Kick -> Waveland

Shorthop -> Kick -> Doublejump -> Fastall -> Uair

Shorthop -> Kick -> Doublejump -> Wait -> Kick

There are so many things to do with this wonderful attack
