Plunder
Smash Ace
Okay so here's mine; was wondering if others do something similar, much different, or maybe just wing it.
Every time I play a match or a set (doesn't matter if it's a scrub or a local top player) I always have the same gameplan in an attempt to be as productive as possible.
I think about 2 things -
1. Actually trying something new that I have been theorycrafting in the lab (recently it's underutilized moves that have unexpected hurt box contortion & ledge options)
2. Focusing on 1 or 2 of my bad habits or advanced tech that I know I need to improve on (currently those are less predictable teching/getups and shield-dropping)
I think # 2 is very important, I see others make the same mistakes over and over and even after I tell them about it and how I'm taking advantage of their bad habit they still keep doing it (often after others also tell them as well). In Melee it seems for most that you have to be actively thinking about your problem areas and actually rectifying them in every match until it becomes second nature. A lot of people are under the belief that these things just work themselves out.
