Idk if this is known by young link users( im new to the community)
But yl has a chain grab that's kinda easy/hard to perform.
For those who want to know how to do it~ Go to training mode or whatever and pick fox then go to any flat stage that doesn't have platforms or stage hazards. Face fox grab him up throw him, then as soon as he falls to where about yl's body grab him again.
This takes practice and accuracy.

Edit: chain grab still works even when fox hits the ground

Fox can buffer roll out of it because YL's uthrow is so weak and his grab is so slow. YL also can't grab aerial opponents, so at no percentage does a regrab actually work. He can probably also shine you out of it. You should instead follow up with Up-tilts into a chain of up-airs to do WAY more damage and not be stage-dependant.

If you really want to try to "chain grab" fast-fallers and if you're fast, you can reaction tech-chase into regrab all of Fox's tech options off of down-throw except tech in place, which is a little too difficult to regrab on reaction. You can react with a downsmash and follow him to apply more pressure, or if you get a hard read on the tech in place (since tech in place shine is such a good option and commonly abused against those that cannot punish it), you can make a hard read and go for a very hard punish with short hop, early up air right after the down throw. You want to start the up air as soon as possible so you hit with the weak hitbox of upair, keeping the opponent at a close range and set up for more up airs. This also covers missed tech, or you can cover that on reaction with jab reset.

If you miss the hard read and instead they tech left or right, your best option is probably just to retreat to neutral and pull a bomb after the whiffed up air, since you have no approach game without it.

Welcome to Young Link, where reaction tech chasing is incredibly difficult, risky, and pretty much impossible against tech in place, and gives us very low reward for the risk it entails. Life is hard here. Just stick to up throw up tilts, not that you're ever going to grab a fastfaller. Ever. Lol

Actually you can grab air born opponents with the handle of the grappling hook but im pretty sure fox can jump out before you regrab him. There may be a small % range where you can actaully chaingrab him but your grab is so weak that you migt as well just juggle him instead.

While you're right, if Plup can grab Leffen with Samus's ****ty grab (way slower than Young Link's), then I believe that it is possible for a Young Link main to get a grab even at a high level of play.

Dthrow to bair then regrab works on Marth. It's hard to follow DI, but it's possible.
