So I just pre-ordered Smash 4 for wii u(the $100 one with the GC controllers) and I was wondering about the 3ds versions.I'm unable to get more 3ds's(got 1) and I'm unsure if this smash will be very fun without multiple people. Also does anyone know about the connectivity?Maybe knowing that could persuade me into buying the 3ds one.

There's local and online connectivity (For Fun/Glory included) and the game is probably alot of fun alone. Smash Run and the other modes (Home Run, new single player mode) are examples

You can transfer custom movestes using amiibos. There's supposed to be more info besides the movestes

They mentioned during the treehouse at E3 that it is easier to unlock moveset pieces and other things through smash run than on the Wii U, additionally I have the feeling that all of your character unlocks/DLC will be transferable as well.

Well I am not sure about you, but while Smash multiplayer is awesome, to me the single player has been always great in the series.

With Smash Run it is just even better. So yeah, I would say it is worth buying only for the single player.

Yeah smash single player has always been fun for me! I never get bored playing by myself although mutiplayer is even better. Also the amiibo accessory is coming out with the adapter for the 3ds sometime next year.

IMO, if you bring the 3DS around with you, you're probably going to play it alone unless you have friends who will cling on to you every single day wanting to play. Wii U seems like the console I would use just to play with friends.

Also, the 3DS will be great when you're away from a TV and want to play in other areas with friends.

I don't know why people assume everybody wants to play Smash with friends. Local multiplayer is so overrated.

It will have it's uses. I'd get one for the sake of doing some last minute training or research.

Buy it to hold you over until Smash Wii U is released. Smash Run and portability is really the only thing that will keep you from playing the far superior home console version.

You can't accept the 3DS version being greatly inferior, can you?
There is a point on what @ Reila Reila said. So far, there is not much of importance the Wii U version has better than the 3DS version. We even have more modes confirmed for the 3DS at the moment. The only advantage the Wii U has at this point is that more people could see the match at a time, and that's not even related to content about the game.

If you ignore the better controls, graphics, music, cheaper multiplayer and better online, the 3DS version is clearly equal to the Wii U version. ;v

Overrated in the sense that people put too much emphasis on it, like it is the most important thing in a game. I used to play local multi as a kid, but as an adult I don't have time for that anymore, nor I have friends that still play videogames, so online multi is much more important. And online multi will be present on the 3DS version, so it is all good for me. If local multi is more important to you, that is fine, but don't try to force people to put the same value on it as you.

Why should I accept a lie? There is nothing pointing to the 3DS version being inferior, let alone GREATLY inferior. All I am seeing are a few kids trying to find reasons to hate on the 3DS version for whatever reason. It is kinda pitiful, if you ask me.

lol. Nice bait.

I don't even feel like arguing with you. "Better online":laugh::laugh:

The only thing you mentioned that isn't total bull**** is the music, the 3DS version will sadly have far less tracks than the Wii U version.

Everything else is either subjective (controls) or as I said, total bull****.

daf faq?

I was simply trying to be sassy/ playful, which is why I finished with 'just saiyan'.
I was just chiming in my 2 cents.

Pretty outrageous to make it sound like i'm holding a gun to your head to force my values on you.

But based on your posts in this thread you seem like an argumentative fellow, so i'll disembark this journey.

...Or we can accept that both the 3DS version and the Wii U version will be good titles. -_-

I'm not sure how the 3DS version will be inferior to the Wii U anyway. The 3DS version has a smooth 60fps, the controls, from impressions from other people, have been good, with only the slightest thing being getting used the analog stick, it will have Online Mode, and exclusive Smash Run. The only thing I personally see inferior is the music, but I can get behind that if the game is good.

The 3DS version may not be better than the Wii U version, but its not inferior. Both will cater to either casuals, competitive, or even intermediate players and will be fun the end of the day.

Wii U LAN Adapter.

If you seriously think that being restricted with a tiny circle pad isn't objectively worse than having 4 different control options, all of which have analog sticks and a right stick, then I'm not stopping you from thinking that. Hmm... this post seems rather flame baitish now that I think of it. Ha ha

Better Controls, Graphics, and Music are all 100% opinions. If 1080p is slapped on something, it's not automatically better in every way. Some people prefer the 3DS style. If all your friends own a 3DS, I know mine do, multiplayer can be cheaper instead of buying more controllers if you are lacking, cause I know I am. Online shouldn't be a problem unless you pay $5 a year or steal your neighbors WiFi.

Uh-huh...do they all own only a 3DS and not a Wii U?
I only have one friend who has a Wii U. Thus, only one person I know is getting Smash for Wii U. He lives far away as well, so we barely see each other. Online helps us. Regardless, I invite everyone over for a guys night, and they know the capabilities of the Wii U, so don't hold the fact that no one has a Wii U against me. We've all played at the Smash Fest, and prefer the 3DS style. So in my relations, this makes the Wii U inferior. No hate on the Wii U version, though, I still think it's going to be amazing.

Once again my point, many people prefer the 3DS style.

The 3DS is a bit more of a personalized experience, however, it still has plenty of things that can be done with multiple players, particularly online if you are interested. Hope that answers your question.

Anyway, I'll be locking this thread now if you don't mind as your question has been more or less answered. If you need to know more than feel free to ask me via PM or the Social Thread.
