Yoshi Videos/Tips

Would anyone mind linking me a few videos with some of the best Yoshi's? Also, any tips with Yoshi I will take gladly .

A little about my skill lvl: I'm not that good, I just starting advanced techniques and got out of the smash attack + grab phase and I'm trying to do more aerial attacks with z-cancel. I'm also aware of double jump cancels because Ness is probably my best character. I'm not really sure how to play with Yoshi but I want to learn with him because of he has a DJC and I can only really play Ness right now.

What are some simple combos I can practice with Yoshi? Right now I'm practicing a pretty simple utilt dair usmash (I'm pretty basic atm). Is there any other combos I can practice?

Yoshi has a lot of combo potential thanks to his DJCs and killer moves. For good yoshis search up Sossi and Isai (or Malva, same guy but online matches rather than console) on youtube.

Notice the use of DJC uairs to rack some damage and nairs to push dk along.

Prince has one of the best Yoshis I've ever seen (if not THE best together with Sossi and Isai).
And you might search some videos of Tigerbombz and SheerMadness as well. I don't know if there are vids with SM playing but I heard he has a very good Yoshi, and I'm sure Tigerbombz has a good Yoshi too.

sucks for only compared to your other chars and maybe people at your level of play...but generally speaking if anyone in this thread had your yoshi they'd probley own 9/10 people

I've watched the online matches you did with Boom some time ago (I mean the Yoshi vs. Fox ones) and I think you might not have the same knowledge of the character that Sossi and Prince have (perfect DJC, parry etc.), but watching your Yoshi actually made mine way better, cause I saw your almost perfect spacing and some nice mindgames :O

When it comes to Yoshi, i have troubles with connecting Nairs into combos and using Bair to send your foe the oppisite way o.o;;

Actually, when I use Yoshi I use him too much like Ness. DJCs close the ground...

I suppose you know that eggs can be directed in different angles... You basically have to mindgame the opponent and make him go some way, and predict where he's going and throw the egg exactly there.

Dont use egss much though, and they are useful for edgeguarding

I'm no good at egg tossing, but I know you don't spam it and I don't even use Yoshi except for friendlies [where I goof around with character choices]. So I wasn't serious. -_-

yoshi's eggs are useful for a few things

edgeguarding vs mario, luigi, and especially falcon/samus
camping (moderately)
for vsing characters with low range such as jigglypuff
for making it so they are hit a certain way, its just the hitbox, tilt it a certain way while throwing it.

Yoshi is a difficult character to use (probably the most difficult) but i have seen 2 different styles

1. DJC spam, high offense low defense, works well vs Jigglypuff but if you miss your dead
2. DJC is only used for countering....as in a more campier yoshi. My yoshi is more of this style, it only DJC's normally in a combo and uses the double jump to Get out of combos instead

i don't see any egg in that video, but i presume you're talking about using the egg as the killer move instead of the last spike

Yoshi is adorable.don't just keep practicing with him. By the time you play and improve your gameplay,automatically all your chars' skills including your yoshi will increase. Believe me.
And use the Red Yoshi is the cutest lol

You can start combo with a Z-Canceled SH dair. Doesn't mean you should always go for that, but it's another way to start if that's what helps.
