Look, don't flame me. I saw a topic similar to this, but I didn't bookmark it, and now, I don't see it in any of the forum pages.

Anyway, what are good controls for the keyboard for SSB64 on PJ64k?

I'll HOPEFULLY get an adapter for my GC controller soon, but for a time, I'm going to be stuck with the keys. It's hard to do tilts when you've got to press bricks.

Does anyone have a good control scheme?

Up in the top right corner of this web page is a very powerful tool called "search"

if you can spell what you are looking for, you might not need to ask questions this thread has already covered :)

When I used to play on keyboard I used the arrows as the analog stick, k = c button, l = b, ö = a, i = l, o = z, p = r. I had to stick to one side of the keyboard since we occasionally played 2players on one keyboard.

I use Up down left right

and for the buttons

A = D
B = F
S = Space
L = Z
R = A
and Z = S

I don't short hop so I use the C-buttons for color selection

My old config was an altered version of Zantetsu's.

WASD - Arrows
J - A
N - B
M - L
K - Z
L - R
YUIO - C Buttons

Easy to shorthop and Z-Cancel.

Jumping on Keys always brings me back to the same question....

do smaller buttons work bets for SHing, or Bigger ones?

I remember some people saying letter buttons are best because they are smaller, while others say space is best because its biggest O_o
The key should be whatever key you know you can press lightly to short hop well every time. This means some key that is not very sensitive (which is why I am guessing keyboard works very well for you.

This is gonna sound ******** but my keyboard scheme is very unique.
Some call it cramped and too unlike an N64 controller, but I find it ergonomic:

Arrows...
A = >
B = ?
R = "
L = :
Z = <

mine has to be the hardest setup ever. Never try mine lol.

Up = A
Down = S
Left = D
Right = F

Start = C
L = V
A = B
B = N
R = M
Z = ,
Shorthop(Left c-stick) = Spacebar
Other c's for color = up-down-left arrows.
