shfflc nair approach > sh lc double fair > fsmash OR dtilt > sh fair double jump spike( if at edge)

I usually can get this off against non-light characters on FD, spike kills at about 48% or something.

Reason im asking is, nair seems to be risky for approaching so it may not be the safest approach, but for me it's easier to follow up with if the opponent DI's away.

While I'm at it, why is Nair not used much? I find it to be highly effective in certain situations.

Opinions?

That'd probably only work on in training mode or if your opponent doesn't DI. Emblem Lord has a topic about approaching, so check that out. Nair has less range than a fair, so you have to be pretty close if you want to use it. That'll end up getting you shieldgrabbed. That's unless you do a standing or retreating fair, which wouldn't count as an approach.

Nair approaches hardly work (for me at least, they usually get blocked). I'd stick with standing nairs. It's pretty situational for which moves to use next after another, depending on what your opponent does (DI, teching, not-teching)

I agree, there is really no one end all approach. It's all quite situational depending on the oppenents movements. I wish I could say more, however, due to my inexperience I will keep my mouth shut for now :( .

If you read Emblem Lord's post for approaching it has some pretty valuable info. The dtilt is probably the safest approach. As for the nair, I would suggest approaching with that as long as your spacing is decent. I find myself using the nair approach when I am going up against floaty characters such as Peach or Jiggs.
