Y-RCA thingies (DVD recorder)

My dad's tv has monitor out on the back, but that TV is inconvenient for me. My TV has audio out, but no video out. Can I use this to plug in my Wii and DVD recorder to the same port and record video? I'm assuming I can just plug the audio into the audio out ports and be okay.

Sadly, no. It doesn't work that way. The two "in" cables (your DVD recorder/Wii) cannot speak to each other; that cable you posted merely merges them into one. (If you were to plug something in the other end it would split it in two).

Does your DVD recorder have video in? That would be so much easier. Just plug your Wii into you DVD recorder.

Yeah, my DVD recorder has video in. But how do I use that?
Do I plug the Wii into a splitter on the video on and then use a two way composite cable to output that to the TV or what?
