I just got a brand new 260 controller from Madcatz with the hope that it would enhance my gaming experience; the controller works fine offline, but when I try to get into a game using Kaillera, my controller ceases to respond at all, as if it had been unplugged...

EDIT: In addition, the control sticks seem a bit stiff while in-game; the Range in N-rage is set to 100 and the Deadzone is set to 0, how can I rectify it?

Before I forget, I seem to be having some additional trouble with the controller; it seems as if the sticks are slightly stiff. I have the deadzone set at 0 and the sensitivity set at 100; what's going on and how can I rectify it?

the stiffness goes away after playing a while

in other words, you need to break it in

are you sure about that? That seems... unconventional

The sensation is there only when engaged in a match; it seems as if the stick will not respond, for example, on the wii (virtual console) or with the keyboard on PC, response time is a non-issue; it's as fluid and smooth as ever. Only with the 360 controller does the sensation occur...

It seems the root of the issue is with the number of buttons that can be pressed at one time; it feels as if I'm pressing too many buttons for the stick to respond...

not actually stiff; but the response time seems slow....

Edit: Which plugin would you guys recommend for the controller?

15 is too much, my stick won't respond

EDIT: Nevermind the above comment. How would increasing the Deadzone help any?

Hmm weird problem but I'm pretty sure if your using the wrong deadzone the stick seems to
be unresponsive or barely move for example when you smash forward to run it will walk instead no matter how hard you smash the stick foward. If this is similar problem then you
have to find your deadzone sweetspot, and I believe 0 deadzone is for n64 controller if I'm not
mistaken.

On a PC, every joystick should be calibrated the first time you use it and possibly every time you switch controller ports. Calibration doesn't just help keep the joystick centered... it helps fix the range and sensitivity.

^Yes this ^ also make sure you calibrate it in control panel and go to game controllers and
go to properties. Also make sure you download the latest pc drivers for the Mad Catz 360 controller if there are any.

How exactly would I go about calibrating the controller? Could I please get step by step instructions? If it helps, I've already installed the XBCD Drivers; which I've heard greatly improves overall performance...

Start -> Control Panel -> (may vary depending on your version of Windows) Game Controllers -> Properties -> Settings -> Calibrate.

Are there any joysticks listed on the list?

You gotta post more useful information if we are to help :p

Well, where have you looked? I was talking about in the control panel.

Alternatively you could take 30 seconds to google how to calibrate your joystick >_>

First try and see if the software that you installed has anywhere that lets you calibrate it if not then Try uninstalling your controller's software and see if it shows up in Start -> Control Panel -> (may vary depending on your version of Windows) Game Controllers -> Properties -> Settings -> Calibrate.
