I was playing online... and I did an upsmash, and I tripped while standing still... WTF? This has never happened to me before, since Zamus is my secondary, but is this common? or is my game just messed up?

I've tripped while shield grabbing. You can trip from any move while on the ground, regardless of whether you tapped a sideways direction or not.

My friend have a silly theory that tripping is inflicted by invisible bananas that spawn and fall down to the air (which can result in "air tripping" ) so maybe if our theory is correct, a banana could have fallen on you while you were doing up-Smashing? There are many aspects to this theory, there is only one banana at a time on the stage and they have a 5% chance to randomly spawn anywhere above the stage

huh... I do feel like whenever I trip, my opponent is prone to trip soon after or before...
