A 2.5D Metroidvania type of game? I know a lot of the Metroidvania types of games use pixels, but I'm just wondering if a game like that with 3D models instead would interest the majority of you.

As long as the 3D graphics are executed well, I don't have a problem with them being used over the 2D style. Some non-Metroidvania 2.5D games do have stylized looks, which arguably makes them as timeless as 2D games.

I'm hoping the next actual Metroid game is like this. And developed by Retro taking place after Fusion. It will be announced at E3.
