Would this controller work with the GC adapter?

'Cause I practice on sm4sh with the 3DS (I don't have a Wii U), and this has the most similar button layout for a wired controller. (For tourneys so that it's more convenient.) Also, am I able to switch controllers during a set XD

Should work since the port is the same. I never heard of controller switching during a set, but that means there is nothing against it.
