Would a RadioShack HDMI splitter cause lag?

The splitter I am using seems to get its power from the device as it has no AV cable. It's just a simple, two HDMI in one out.

From what I understand, when splitting any kind of AV signal a powered option is preferred, so that you don't lose image/audio quality, on top of the image potentially being delayed.
