It's the WiiWare and PC game that's sweepin' the nation. And it's the best game since Portal, if I do say so myself.

Website: http://2dboy.com/games.php
Trailer: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/k5eG685gIVxEa6NNRc

The premise is pretty simple: Build things out of goo. It's hard to explain in words, so I'll link to the official PC demo:

Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/22010/
Non-Steam: http://2dboy.com/2008/10/15/demo-of-world-of-goo-available/

It really is amazing. The visuals are simple yet effective, the music is some of the best I've heard in years, and the gameplay is great physics-based fun. Everybody should at least try out this game, but buying it is worth every penny.

As to which version you should get, the WiiWare version is $15 dollars and has multiplayer, while the PC version is $20 and has more precise controls (due to the mouse).

It looks like an interesting game. I watched my roommate play it for a while and it looked pretty cool.

Nothing spectacular. I played the demo, and it got old by the third level.

The soundtrack is AMAZING.
The game is simple, but it does get your head working from time to time. It took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to do the puzzle with the close things in the bottom and wide at the top.
But srsly. The soundtrack is AMAZING. And this was made entirely by 2 guys?
Win.

This game is supposed to be epic. I just hate the WiiWare system for buying points (why can't I buy just enough?), so I haven't gotten it yet. OH, BUT I WILL--it's only a matter of time.

Crimson King hates good games. SPREAD IT AROUND.
Kidding. You're willing to think as you please.

This game is just not fun. It's one of those games that tries really hard to be different and simple and just fails. I played the demo expecting to be wowed, and by the third level or so, I was bored.

Hmmm, I saw it on Steam but it looked like one of the casual Peggle type games they put on Steam. That trailer actually looked really awesome. Time to go check my card balance again I suppose. Steam is gonna bleed me dry...

Not surprised. The first levels have little to no hazards to your goos, and its really hard to lose. The difficulty picks starts picking up after them, and it gets really interesting.

I'd give it another try.
