hey guys just posting something I've been thinking about for a while. I feel as though I have decent execution, I can do most combos for my characters but when I play in matches I can never fully complete it or never completing my follow ups. (I know training drills like doing combos 10 times in a row if you mess up repeat etc.) Anything I can work on to improve myself?

If it helps I use Wario, Captain Falcon, Villager

The only way to practice once you get the technical execution down against a CPU is to analyze your human opponent and choose a follow up appropriately.

Combos (or "strings", as there aren't that many true lengthy combos in this game) in Smash are designed to be used situationally - as a reaction to what the opponent is doing (or what you think they're about to do). Consider the percentage they are at as well as how they react to your initial attack, i.e., which direction they DI, when they air dodge, if they jump, if they tech, etc. - rarely will the pattern be exactly the same for any given opponent.

For example, with Falcon, grab to dthrow usually sets up an easy nair or uair, but opponents' movement or percentage won't guarantee that you can land another uair like you can in training mode. It is important to have your tech skill down so that you can hit the uair if the moment is right, but it's also important to recognize that the situation might call for a bair, dash attack, gentleman, etc.
