Why isn't there a mode where a friend and I can be paired against another random 2 person team?

Yes, I agree, that would be fun. We had two Wiis in the house and just kept joining and exiting after a round and rejoining in Basic Brawl trying to get in the same room. It worked several times which was good bully protection for me! lol!
