Wireless controller pose no problems whatsoever. I plan on using the gamepad and pro controller for Smash 4, as the GC controller has long-outlived its time and it is time to adapt and change.
Not true at all, judging by from when I played the demo of the WiiU version a while back. If anything, it felt more comfortable than the GC controller.I´m really sure that it´ll be quite a lot of input lag on wireless controllers. I´ll still use my old GC controller.
To be honest I'd be more worried with the input lag from the virtual controller software than from a modern wireless controller. From what I've seen wireless and wired Xbox 360 controllers have virtually identical input lag, and as the Pro Controllers are native to the Wii U, I seriously doubt there'd have any more (I'd actually expect them to have less) than the GameCube controllers.I´m really sure that it´ll be quite a lot of input lag, on wireless controllers. I´ll still use my old GC controller.
They're making an adapter because people asked for it, and I'd assume they're hoping to prevent some of the people who fear change from overlooking the game on controller alone. There's a reason they are making the adapter in the first place.
Color me a skeptic, but I don't think we'll be seeing a relevant tournament placing from anyone without a GCN controller. If you don't prefer it, you're already behind the curve because after 13 years of use, a lot of us are VERY comfortable with it.
