So I was on the Project M board and someone brought up the notion of a wired controller for the Wii U (aside from the Game Cube controllers). And it occurred to me at least for Smash at a competitive level, it would be nice to have a Wired version of the Wiimote + Nunchuck, or a solo Classic Controller. The likely hood of this is very slim, but I'm actually curious to hear some other thoughts on things. Do you all think it would be interested if there were wired versions of the Wii/Wii U controllers, and how do you think they would be implemented if it were at all possible? I mean if they can make an adapter for a controller that is a decade old for the Wii U, then I'm sure that if they really wanted to they could do something similar for their current gen controllers.

I don't think it's impossible for Nintendo to patch in wired Pro support, but that's if the GC adapter has a good connection. Reportedly, the invitational was very laggy.

Wired wiichuck seems impossibly stupid. The nature of the nunchuck requires freedom.

I feel like when the game finally comes out they will probably work perfectly. Although to me the reason I would actually like a wired Wiichuck or classic controller is cause I don't actually use the gamecube controller for Smash anymore, it just feels weird in my hands, and I never played melee seriously lol.

The apparent input lag would be gone however lol.

The unofficial adapters create lag.

Trade-offs I guess. I just can't fathom how it would look.
