For anyone that's taking finals this week, or the weeks after... Good Luck!

And we can also gripe about them here. I'll start by saying that I have exams at the worst possible dates: Calculus 3 in slightly less than two hours, and Mechanics 1 this Saturday morning. They're not hard exams by any means, but still, I could have flown home much earlier. Oh well.

Good luck and don't underestimate yourself. Be confident and i am sure you will pass those exams also "Grades over games". Think about it this way, the game designers already have a career and are worry free, you can be just like them if you focus on your priorities.

Things are really crazy here.

I have my Finals today. First at 9:00 am... but... there's like an ice storm outside, and the big tree in my front yard is slowly collapsing.

Yeah, I really don't know how things will go.

Anyways to be more on topic. I really don't want to take them. My tests today are all music, which isn't so bad for music theory because I've got that down like nothing else. However, piano and aural theory are a bit harder for me. I didn't really practice for my piano test, that says it all really.

Get that tree removed before it kills someone. Always practice you will never regret it. Call the school for information and check the news for school shutdowns.

This week is a mess.

I'm seeing new stuff in two different topics (organic chem. and physics II) until wednesday, and my finals for these classes are put thursday and friday. This is beyond stupidity.

It already killed my car. Okay, so that was a different tree, but yeah it's bad out there.

I also don't have classes today. They were canceled. Thank goodness.

I shall definitely practice today.

I won't lie. I never study for finals. I just get a good night sleep and eat a big breakfast. I believe if you don't know the material for whatever class by now, you won't know it by the time the final comes.

I have them next week. Then whooooopy winter break!

I don't anticipate any problems with my finals. Of course I'm a full time worker/full time student.

Thankfully, I am done finals.

Finals serve zero purpose for me because I am always in that position where a 100 wouldn't get me the next grade, but an 80 would drop it to a C. I wish finals were optional here.

I dont study and i pass but i believe its due to my memory (I am not boasting) so i would recommend that you study to jog your memory. And there have been moments where i have studied and failed, its weird i know.

Just finished a psych final which a couple people tried to pay me off not to take. Being the curve-setter can feel so warm and snuggly inside sometimes.

Then came Stats... 2 hours later I'm ready to give myself a pineapple enema. Case in point, I hate stats.

Finals never bother me. I never study for them or even pay attention to them. For me, it's usually "Oh, I have a government final tomorrow morning in room 147. That's cool. Good thing I noticed the sign there, or I would have missed it."

And then I **** those exams. I've gotten a 96% or over in every single final or midterm I've taken since I started high school.

Like CHAOSDRAGON said, it's all in the memory. I never take notes in class or study, but I still remember practically everything the teacher says, and for anything I can't remember, I can usually apply common sense and use the clues in the rest of the test to get the answer. I'm not bragging--it's not like I did anything to get that skill. But it is very nice to have. Also, I'm naturally a good test taker. I feel really bad for people who get nervous during exams.

I don't see how you can make an A and not study... what is your major? If I didn't study for organic chemistry... T_T i dont even want to imagine.

But I just finished my finals, and now its time to drive home and see my crew! (sans smarty pants Virgilijus LOL, he will be a few more days)

I'd really love to know what's your field of study, because I remember never studying in high school and still ace'ing exams like there's no tomorrow. But that's before entering college, where not studying perfectly = getting average grades.

Oh, I'm still in high school (a senior). So, no field of study, per se.

But I've taken a couple college courses (because I failed the high school versions--lol?), as well as several Advanced Placement courses, and the outcome is always the same: Horrible or mediocre class grades and exemplary test scores. Well, I actually did surprisingly well on the college courses (I currently have a 4.0). I didn't study for the final exams in those courses, but I got 100% on all of them (I'm not joking).

I'm not saying college is easy--I'm just saying that from my limited experience with it, it didn't seem too hard. The sad part is that I can't handle school: I'm pretty much on my way to failing out, and even taking extra college courses can't save me. I don't think I'm compatible with our educational system, to tell you the truth.

The way things are going, I don't know if I'll even be able to get my high school diploma. Which totally sucks, because apparently you need to have a certificate from a place of learning nowadays if you want to be able to feed a family, whether or not you are actually capable of thinking Great Thoughts.

College courses aren't hard in general, but in my opinion, what you receive as an "equivalent" in high school is far from how deep we can dig into something in college. It's also far different when you breath, live, and suffer college because of extensive class time, no sleep due to hand-out works, etc.

Not bursting your bubble or anything, a 100% is incredible, but if I give my opinion, it's far from possible to not study in college. Hence, some of my teachers just don't give class but answers question when we have some, so we have to completely learn by ourselves based on multiple books/links the teacher will give; harder then not taking notes and just listening.

EDIT: As an example, I'm at school right now, woke up at 5h30 AM and went to bed around 1 AM... gogo finals :D

I know, I know. That's why I'm so afraid of college, even though I've done so well before. The classes I was in only had a couple small papers. I have yet to hand in a research paper that didn't totally suck. I doubt I could handle college, which is a very bad thing because you have to go to college.

And learning by yourselves? That's my dream. Just give me a book and an internet connection, and I'll be happy for a few days. And at the end, I will have learned a whole high school course worth of knowledge. I've done this a couple times, but suddenly the school changed its policy, and I can no longer get credits for classes I didn't actually sit in for. And they retroactively took away the credits for the classes I did this for in the past years. Which, as you can imagine, really screws things up.

I'm not arguing with you that you don't have to study for college. I'm sure you would know better than me.

I hate writing papers and I hate studying for essay exams. And studying for Kanji is going to be a major pain...

And good luck to all of you taking finals this and next week!

My first two finals are tomorrow. I'm not freaking about them at all, like everyone else around me. Seriously, I just take it casually and in stride; ie, by not spending literally days and nights in the library or studying.

I've spent a couple hours per day studying the past few days; the rest of the time I've spent watching episodes of House on my computer, playing call of duty 4, sleeping, and wasting time on the internet. I study things well during the semester, so now, come finals week, it's just a matter of refreshing my memory and looking over any new material.

I love finals week because it's just simple studying, don't have to worry about little assignments and quizzes and homework assignments and all that stuff.

That said, I study about 3-4 times (on a good/easy week) as much in college as I did in high school.

My final's schedule is aweful. Out of 5 courses, I have 3 finals, and one take home. The take home was due today at 10:00 AM. my 3 finals are tomorrow 10:30-12:30, 1:00-3:00, and 3:30-5:30. Then, Friday 8:00-10:00AM I have a final period, but no test. However, attendance is mandatory.

Good Luck, everyone!

Two days down, two to go. I feel pretty solid on the tests I've taken (I already know I got a 91% on my macroeconomics test).

Two down, two to go.

Monday was multivariable calculus... that kicked my ***.

Tuesday was Electricity and Optics, and I think I beat the crap out of that exam.

Tomorrow is Thermodynamics. I've already bent over. I'm just waiting for the surprise buttsecks to come.

Saturday is Mechanics, the easiest core mechanical engineering class. Naturally, I'm planning to ace it.
