Just wanted to know how many of you will be buying the adapter and using gamecube controllers. I just got 4 new controllers to replace my 10+ broken ones, so now all I need is the adapter and I will be set for the new Smash Bros. Will you guys be using the GameCube controllers or the gamepad, Wii U pro, Wii remote with or without the Nunchuk, etc.

I actually don't know. Technically, yes, but depends which type.

I'm waiting to hear if the adapter works in Wii Mode. If not, I may get the FightPad thing instead.

I am definitely going to be using a GC controller as much as I can, but if I play off screen mode if my roommates want to play something else, I'll use the gamepad, because I'd like that better for that rather than using GC on offscreen mode.

The only true way to play smash:

But I'm going to be spending a ton on those new GCN controllers.

I could see myself trying out the Wii U Pro Controller before switching back to the Gamecube controller.
The only control option I woud never try would be the Gamepad and the Wii Remote without a nunchuk, it'd be pretty silly showing up at a venue or playing in general with either of those.

I don't really see any reason to bother with gc controllers when I have the gamepad and a u pro controller. They're just as good, and don't have messy cables

came here to read idiotic comments about how the GC controller is the only true way to play smash.

I was disappointed....

I've already ordered two GameCube controllers on eBay and taken back the two extra I gave to my sisters since they don't use their gamecube anymore. Cheap option for me, and using the motion control is a bit farfetched for me...
The 4-way adapter won't be awailable until the release og the game, and I'm wondering if should buy that or for singles. Any pros and cons with the different solutions?

Hijack question: I'm confused about the availability of costum moves online. I thought I read about it being blocked for online battles, but I can't find anything online do confirm or deny this. Could anyone elaborate please?

Gamecube. No reason to buy new controllers when I have like six Gamecube controllers sittin' around.

Its definitely not the only way. I will be trying out the other controllers. The main reason I want to use GameCube controllers the most is because I started playing Smash on the GameCube.

I voted Wiimote with nunchuk BUT, I'm willing to try out different controllers like pro controller and the GameCube one that everyone loves.

Pro Controller. I'm already familiar with it, and I won't shell out $20 for an accessory that only works with one game.

Edit: I REFUSE to shell out extra money for a pointless accessory.

Gamecube Controller it was, Gamecube Controller it is :)

I was even prepared to hook them on my Wiimotes with a little Adapter I bought some time ago, but that's luckily unnecessary now.

I'm gonna use the WiiU pro controller. I have 4 perfect GC controllers so if I can't deal with the Pro Controller then I will fess up and buy the adapter.

I just feel since I went through 2 games with GC then I am ready to try something a little new and different.

I used to enjoy the Gamecube controller above all else; however, I was forced to use a different controller once my Wii burned out and ever since, I have preferred trying out different controllers so that my controller was not a crutch. So I will probably try the Wii U Pro instead.

Lying about my country.
I'll use both the Pro Controller and the GCN one.

I like the Gamecube better, but it doesn't have much life left, so I don't want to to abuse it too much.

Besides, getting used to the Pro controller will mean I can switch back and forth between 3DS and Wii U more easily, as the buttons are more similar.

Classic Controller is really nice. It works pretty well and all of my Gamecube controllers are busted so I'll stick with it.

I plan to use the same Gamecube Controller I had since I first got a Gamecube. It may be more then a decade old, but it still works fine to this day ^^

I vastly prefer the Wii U Pro Controller, so I'll be using that option often. I'll probably practice a lot with the GC Controller so that I can use it just as well as the Pro Controller -- for tournaments, that is. I'd rather not deal with the whole wireless issue.
