Smash Wii U Will we get another Smash Direct focusing specifically on the Wii U version?

I think it's needed, we hardly know anything about this version. What modes will it have? What will it's answer to Smash Run be? And as much as i want to believe it but doubt it, will we still get the Ice Climbers on the Wii U version?

They should definitely do this sometime after the 3DS version is released worldwide, put all resources and hype to the Wii U version to maintain interest. Especially because the Wii U really needs the push.

well there was an announcement by sakurai saying that he wasent gonna continue the POTD as long as he did and that he would countinue to show them untill one of the wiiu version comes out im assuming

They could (and probably will) have a Direct to explain the differences between versions, possible new game modes, possibility of what will be covered by balance patches (if it happens) and maybe some other stuff.
Maybe it won't be as lengthy as the previous one but it has a decent chance to happen.

I don't think there will be a wii u smash direct. They already have quite a bit of games they have to talk about again since E3 for updates. Having a direct solely focusing on the wii u seems pointless when I don't think there would be anything big enough to warrant it. They can easily fit discussion of a new mode in a normal direct with the other games.

I beg to differ. We have seen some interesting things that makes me believe the Direct will announce that the amount of players is double on the Wii U.

- We have seen the files that contained the player tags (P1, P2, P3, to P8).
- We have 8 character alts to choose from.
- We have Bowser Junior and the 7 Koopalings.
- We have 8 Mario characters (not including Dr. Mario).
- ESRB did not say how many people could play, why would they not know after rating the 3DS?

Which raises some interesting questions for me. Is 8 unique Mario characters the reason we did not get Waluigi? Is the unannounced maps for the Wii U built for 8 players? Will we get amazing match ups like Mario + Bowser vs Kirby + Dedede vs Link + Gannon vs Samus + Ridley?

Bowser, Bowser Jr, Wario, Dedede, Meta Knight, Ganondorf, Dark Pit
