Smash Wii U Will UK Gamecube Controller Adapter's work on a US Wii U?

I want to import a controller adapter, but I need help. Will an imported one work on my American Wii U?

I heard they aren't region locked, I may be wrong, but it is still very likely you don't need to worry about it.

The UK adapter hasn't been released yet so no one here is qualified to answer that. But I do know for a FACT that using a UK GameCube Adapter will overheat your US Wii U and it will catch on fire. Do not buy if you value your safety.

Well, I'm from the UK and I can't seem to get a UK adaptor so good luck finding one that'll ship to america.
