Will the Project M Community die after the release of Smash 4?

When Project M was introduced into my friend group last June everyone swiftly moved on from Brawl to this significantly more balanced and arguably more enjoyable game. However, with the hype for Smash 4 being increased everyday several people I've talked to have said they'll drop PM upon the release of Smash 4. I personally plan to play Smash 4 as well as PM and it would be awesome if I can become competitively acute in both games. I know that Smash 4 will definitely be infinitely more popular that PM but I don't want to lose players from this community to that one; it would be great if it would be a combined relationship, like how a lot of players play both Melee and Brawl.

What do you guys think?
