Will the next Smash Bros. Update Have 1.0.8's Replays Unplayable?

By next update, I mean the one with Youtube uploading feature. If it likely will, what's the best I can do? I don't want to record using the camera, and I don't really trust Dazzle. I don't have much money, nor can I shop online for a capture card. Is dazzle the best for the job for me? Or is there something else I can do to record better footage of my Wii U?

Th reason replays become unplayable is because they just record button input rather than actual video. So when the game is updated, the moves are slightly different, do more/less damage, etc. Basically, the game will not play out the same way that it did before, so therefore the replay is no longer valid.

So basically you should assume any update will ruin all of your saved replays. It's too bad, but unfortunately that is how it works since it takes a lot less memory to save a string of text to record button input rather than gigs of video footage.

Yes, I know. Is it likely that the next update will have tweaked characters again? The one with Youtube Uploading Feature? Anyways, what should I get for a capture card? The EZCap 280 from Amazon, or the Dizzle? ((Amazon is probably the only exception on buying online for me)

If the next update doesn't make any changes to the characters, then the 1.0.8 update replay data will still be playable.

I've watched some gameplay, the quality is great, but is it reliable?

Hm... Wish we had some insight on this update and the next one. Please, Nintendo, don't have our previous replays unplayable again!

I also hope to upload some of the replays I already have, since I am thinking to start a series of videos asking viewers how I can improve when I win matches that are close or when my opponent seemed better than me but I got kind of lucky.

As long as there won't be anymore balance patches and such, I wouldn't worry about it. Otherwise, we might as well enjoy what we have now before it gets taken away from us again.

I think balance patches will still happen quite often as long as we continue to get content for the game. Once we have the confirmation no more content is coming to the game at all (characters, stages, modes etc...) the balance patches will be less frequent but still happen.

Considering August is when we are getting stages and tourney mode, it also has a good chance we may see another character released or at the very least announced so I'd say we probably will get a few changes. It'll have been 2 months since the last patch by then.
