Will potential DLC affect the Trophy Shop?

Don't know where else to put it...

With the concept of DLC at least being presented in the near future, I am wondering if Nintendo will use DLC to also provide more trophies for purchase and viewing on the Trophy Shop mode for both versions of the game.

I mean, the 3DS version has 685, and I expect the Wii U to have more than 900, but eventually, people may be able to unlock them all eventually if they are determined, so I was curious if you all think that developing more trophies for both versions would be a practical or feasible idea, in particular if DLC results in newcomers from franchises that have yet to be fully represented in Smash Bros..

And, if you want, what trophies would you like to see be made?

Because the 3ds teophy mewtwo and the playable mewtwo models do not match the trophy so the trophy designs will change

What I'm more concerned about is Smash Tour; namely, the Dixie Kong and

trophies. Those two in particular have effects when used in Smash Tour, and we currently don't know if there are any more trophies in Smash Tour that could be for potential DLC characters.

Basically; if that will bar them from being DLC or not, provided they don't already have a role.

I'm literally one Trophy away from having all of the trophies on 3DS, and it's a random one.

Wouldn't mind DLC trophies, but I'd rather they come as part of free updates (maybe new Challenge Panels to complete that get you trophies and such?), or as part of more substantial DLC packs.

I think the trophies will probably be kept as is. They might just give him another trophy.

I'm hoping to see Wolf come back when Starfox Wii U gets close to release. Either that or some Starfox-themed Mario Kart 8 DLC.

Yeah, I do expect trophies to be added as DLC in future packs. One major thing I'm thinking: what if we get a new franchise through DLC? Surely they'd want to add character trophies from that franchise?


I do think that there will be full DLC packs with 1-2 characters each, maybe 1 stage, and a bunch of trophies in it. (Mewtwo will probably come with the first DLC pack if you don't already have him.)

Honestly, I think we will just get character trophies for you to unlock by playing Classic/All Star modes.

I think adding Trophies/Songs to Smash as free DLC when a new game comes out to hype it a bit would be a really smart idea.

While we're on the topic of DLC and trophies, i was wondering what would happen if they add in a character who's already a trophy? For example say there's already a mewtwo trophy before they knew they were adding in mewtwo, then they added him. When you beat the game with him in classic would you unlock a new MewTwo(Character) trophy alongside the old Mewtwo trophy? I spent some time looking through trophies to try and figure out if they purposely left any out in the DS version, just to see if maybe they left it out because they planned on releasing that character. The only trophy that i thought was missing was Birdo. There's no Birdo trophy. I'm sure that doesn't mean anything, but it seems like a trophy they should really have.

Some people just don't care for the miscellaneous things in the game.

I know that characters are the meat and potatoes of DLC discussion, and (in declining order of importance) game modes, stages, and music are also going to be mentioned in the conversation.

But, it's an interesting scenario, given how, in spite of the massive library of trophies these games will have, eventually they can be unlocked entirely through determination, and with the Trophy Shop being an easier way to obtain them instead of the maddening minigames from Melee and Brawl, I figured it would be worth discussing. Every time major DLC is announced, 30 trophies should be added since it looks like they barely take much space in a DLC package.

Now, as for existing characters, with Mewtwo being the obvious problem, I can see a trophy like "Mewtwo (Smash)" being utilized as the 3DS trophy and (prototype) artwork are different from each other.
