Neither are of any concern to me.

The game could have 50 characters and come out tomorrow.

Won't matter if it's complete ****.

I want to see if the game is good. Skilled, intelligent, reputable players finally getting their hands on some semblance of the product is the best thing we have gotten since the game was announced.

If the release date is sometime in 2015 then everybody's going to be complaining about it more so than the inevitable disconfirmations of their favorite characters and confirmation of Mii.

I think it depends on how soon the date is. If it's mid July or sooner, I think it will generate more hype than the characters in the short run. Long term, the characters will get much more discussion and build more hype though.
