I just wanted to see if many people are actually interested in the new 3DS, because i'm having mixed feelings about getting one. I know that the new 3DS is much better than the original and I'm more inclined to getting one than ignoring it.

I am going to buy the new XL, Then transfer the data from my old 3DS then sell my old 3DS. Best Plan.

I just might get it around Christmas, don't know for sure yet.
I do want to replace the old 3DS I have eventually.

Unless a game I want is exclusive to it, not a chance in hell.
Xenoblade Chronicles is going to be exclusive so there might be other game that will be exclusive...

Id say theres an 80% chance I'm getting one now, since I only got to play Xenoblade at my friends and I want to try the game fully without having to spend £60... So I guess I'll just buy the new 3DS XL and sell my original 3DS. I have 2 3DS's at the moment as well, won't sell my XL since it has Mario Kart 7 imported into it...

@ Vinje Vinje It's confirmed to come out 2015 for Europe... Not sure about America and other places. Maybe America will even get it before us since they haven't even announced the American Release date... Hope we all get it soon though T_T

To be honest, the only exclusive game I'm interested in it is Xenoblade (mostly because I want to play it and I ain't gonna spend $100 on a wii game), and I already have money saved up for that shexy smash bros 3ds xl. If there are 4 other exclusive games for it that I'm interested in I might consider it.

Yeah I plan on getting it eventually. I wish it was coming out around the time of Smash 3DS, then it'd be an instant day 1 buy for me, but as it stands I probably will wait until some sort of drought where I'll be willing to spend that much money just to replay Xenoblade in 3D.

The New 3DS looks great! I'm still not completely sure, but just like you, I'm more inclined to getting one than ignoring it. I really want the Xenoblade port and the extra CPU power. The only thing I'm slightly worried about is that the C-Stick looks awfully small. I think I'll wait till reviews come out before selling my XL.

Oh and Nintendo seems to be doing pretty bad with names recently :chuckle:

I may get it in the future, but even if I get it, I'm keeping my Awakening 3DS for sentimental value.

Depending on how many good exclusives actually come out for the thing, I may or may not just stick with my XL. I already played Xenoblade, so that's not a huge deal for me. I won't be getting it for Smash, since the Wii U version will be out before then.

Guess I'm going to get it then. I will still keep my 3DS XL since it already has MK8 imported and I like having 2 DS's tbh =D

Not ust for smash, but for the experience. I can't wait! And, am I the only one who thing the little c-stick will actually be comfortable? Everyone is saying it will be uncomfortable, but I am thinking the opposite.

I don't think it's as bad as everyone says it is. Also HTML 5 support, no freaking way! I can watch movies online now!

Oh yeah, defiantly getting the New Nintendo 3DS.
That thing looks great for playing smash, exclusives like Xenobeblade Chronicles and obviously more exclusives to come, and more.

I'm getting one purely on the basis that it's more powerful

You're not the only one, I think the tiny C-stick will be good. Especially for smash.

Yea, I've always been planning on getting a Smash-themed 3DS, but it honestly looks pretty ugly so I've changed my mind on that one. Waiting to get a new 3DS instead now.

My brothers have their own 3DS so I can just play Smash on those when it comes out.

The New 3DS isn't gonna come out until like May
But you don't know that, we usually get the 3DS system's a month after Japan. So hopefully it will be 2 months this time...

I also doubt Nintendo would give Japan a hand held that's so superior to the original 3DS/3DS XL and release it 7 months after.

Well, my 3DS is wearing down.
So, possibly. Mattering on the reviews.

If and when tons of games make use of the New 3DS's CPU power. Otherwise, no, since only one game is making use of that: Xenoblade: Chronicles for 3DS.

If it comes to US and has a red color version, I will definitely buy one.

Yup. Gotta have that Xenoblade. Obvs it will be getting other exclusive games too, at some point.

I'll probs sell my XL for it.

I definitely won't be getting it for smash. Though that Xenoblade is probably the reason I'm getting one anyway.

Lying about my country.
Depends on how many, and which games become exclusive for it. (hopefully not many, I really don't want to buy the same console twice)

Right now, Xenoblade is not worth it on it's own. I'd buy Xenoblade in a heartbeat if it worked in the old models, mostly because I didn't have an actual chance of buying so I ended up just pirating it and I'd like to make up for it. But it's not enough to want to buy another system entirely.

Either way, I'm not looking forward to seeing more exclusives. It's only been three years since the release of the 3DS and it's already obsolete, I really don't want to give this thing any kind of support, and to be perfectly honest, I hope it doesn't sell well.

I was actually thinking of getting that Smash XL bundle to tide me over until the WiiU release, but now there's no way I'm buying that thing knowing it will be outdated almost immediately.

Obviously Nintendo has their reasons for the regional release of the new 3DS, but I for the life of me can't figure out what those reasons might be. Maybe they think it's too risky, and they want to test the waters in Japan before they go world-wide?

I am getting one. I was going to buy a 3DS XL before Smash came out, because my shoulder buttons are iffy in my 3DS, that I have owned for three years. My circle pad is also getting worn out. Good thing I waited. Hopefully the game allows the use of the circle pad pro, because I am going to have to change my grab to the X or Y button.

Smash 3DS supports the New 3DS' C-Stick, which functions just like the Circle Pad Pro, so I suppose it's compatible with the add-on.

When it releases, I'll most likely upgrade to the new 3DS, and hopefully, we'll be able to see a hefty list of exclusives by that time.
I don't own my very own copy of Xenoblade, so this would be a good opportunity to get a copy of the game for under $70, and its portable too! I'm hoping that the frame rate deal will improve by the time it releases.

I'm stuck between deciding which model I'll get though.

Are there any exclusive games announced besides Xenoblade Chronicles?

There will most likely be more exclusives.

The reason I'm getting it now is not only because of Xenoblades, the CPU is much faster which means smoother gameplay, the C stick looks helpful and it's also compatible with 3ds games, not sure about DS games though. It also uses the Micro SD cards, which are becoming more common, and they are cheaper.

This does sound like a HUGE improvement. But why couldn't they just start with this on the XL? :/ there practically abandoning the 35 million people who bought the original 3DS!

Its a waste of money, if your lucky you can play Xenoblade on the Wii for a cheaper price. Heck for Wii U owners a new Xenoblade is coming out.

Only game i need for my 3DS is smash and pokemon, i doubt this 3DS will be successful when the 3DS and its other variations are good enough.

44 million* Nintendo are silly, they should also release it early because it just looks like they're milking money.

@ warionumbah2 warionumbah2 Nah, this 3DS has a better CPU, more games and it's good for people who don't want to play on an inferior console

Also who want's to pay £70 on a game, especially when you can trade your 3DS in?
