Will a composite to scart converter cause input lag?

I have a crt which only has scart ports but i don't have a scart cable for my gamecube, will a composite to scart converter cause much input lag? I know most converters do but i was wondering if it would be much input lag to affect my performance when playing in tournament since i'll be using this to practice tech skill on
