Wii-u third party controller advice

Heya guys, thought I would ask for some help, since I don't get many third party controllers(since its usually ill advised), but certain controller types aren't available first party any more, so I don't have much of an option. So thought I would ask for help, and this also a place we can discuss third party controller groups and products beyond that as well

My current thing is, I've decided to forgo a Smash U deluxe bundle in part due to availability issues, and because I don't really need the Gamecube stuff right away, and its going to be available for quite a while. However, I could use another full controller, and I want a wii pro controller so that I can play wii games with family and friends, but also have have a comfy remote. Now thanks to the imminent release of smash U, there are 2 controllers that are available or will be soon.

The two I want to ask about are the PDP wired fight pad, and the Hori equivalent(which comes out on the 21st). while the latter isn't out, I understand that Hori has a reputation. So does anyone have thoughts or recommendations regarding the two. They are the same price, but I want the one that will be the better quality, and comfort(I have somewhat big hands, I find the wii-u pro, and gamepad comfy, and most good sized remotes). So I hope you guys are willing to help, and that this can be expanded to help others in the future

Oh and if this in the wrong forum, tell me, and/or contact a mod

I've pre-ordered the Hori pad, personally. Hori does have a reputation for quality products. They make some of the "first party" style hardware such as the Wii Wheel for Mario Kart 8:

They got famous for making the only officially licensed N64 controller:

This controller had a Gamecube style analog stick and is considered the perfected form of the N64 controller. Released only in Japan, people overseas would pay around $80 per controller to import them.

Every Hori controller released since has had 1st party build quality. If their reputation holds up, the Battle Pad should be no exception, and as it's closer in shape to a real Gamecube controller, it's the one I chose.

That being said, officially licenced merchandise has to meet certain quality standards. I think that PDP is a good company (I've used the Afterglow line and had no problems) and I think the Wired Fight Pads are built with quality parts. It really comes down to the C-Stick. Do you want one that resembles the original GameCube version, or one with a traditional analog stick top?

Hmmm, well I'm fine with normal, and my sis really wants me to get the Yoshi colors, so I think I may just get the PDP one for now, thanks for the advice
