If nintendo doesnt add timed exclusives they are stupid and wont sell that many wii u's. Unfortunately they are stupid and there will be no timed exclusives and there probably wont be IC's either even though they are DONE on the wii u version and ready to go. Sakurai is a fool if Ic's are wasted and their fans are ignored.

The answer would be no, they never did.
But the thing is though, that's not fair. That means the 3ds version will get like 2-3(maybe 4 IDK) months of promotion while the wii u version will get like one month because it comes out in november. How's that fair? Wii U owners have been treated as 2nd class citizens by third parties and now nintendo and sakurai are going to do the same to us too? They better have some good big chunk of exclusive content for us wii u owners. Talk about saving your struggling console.
