I've been playing Project M 2.6b and 3.0 on the Wii for a while, but I'm getting a Wii U this Christmas with 4 pro controllers in preparation for Smash for Wii U. I know It's possible to play Project M on Wii U with standard Wii Remotes, but is it possible to use the Pro Controller / any adaptors I could use?

Unfortunately, no. The Wii U Pro Controller can only work in Wii U mode, so you can't use it with Wii games at all.

I wish there was a way to use it for Project M, though. The controller feels really comfortable!

You could get some Classic Controller Pros. Those work with Sonic Racing Transformed and all of the virtual console games, so I bet they'd work with SSB4 too.

I wish I can use a Wii U Pro Controller for Project M too, my friend. My brother and I tried it once, it worked 1% though. Mainly because the second I connect it to the Wii U, it recognized it as a Classic Controller, then the Classic Controller icon disappeared in nanosecond.

Just buy a Gamecube controller to Wii adapter. It is a device u plug into your wii controller where a nun chuck would go then the other end you plug your GameCube controller into. Then there you go. It acts as if it were a Classic Controller so you may need to change your button set up slightly (X, Y, A, B) since the Wii Classic has a different layout for them. The is an example of one although it isn't the version I have. Some are better than others, just search on Ebay or a similar site.

I think I saw Mofat's video about that. It may have minimal lag, but it's better than adapting to a totally new controller, I guess.

People overrate the adaption process. I think you'd get used to a classic controller within a few months easy. You might even get better at certain things. I know when I play Cfalcon on a classic controller, shockingly i play a lot better because using a different set of inputs forces me to focus on fundamentals like spacing more than advanced techniques. It reminds me of how Typewriters were initially put in QWERTY instead of ABCDE because they wanted to slow people's fingers down, so they wouldn't jam their typewriters.

QWERTY was implemented to prevent jams and subsequently speed up typing. The layout was intended to separate commonly used letters from each other, as depressing two nearby typebars in rapid succession would often lead to jams.
