Wii U Pro Controller questions

Okay I'm considering getting a Wii U but I am just not sure if you can use the Wii U Pro Controller to play Project M/Brawl. And also do I need a Wii Remote to access the Wii menu on Wii U or can it be accessed with the Gamepad/Pro Controller cause I don't own a Wii and I'd hate to buy one of those controllers. I would appreciate if someone could answer this questions.

You can only use the Wii U Pro Controller to play Wii U games. On a Wii U, you can only play Brawl with a Wiimote, Wiimote and Nunchuk, or the Classic Controller.
