Smash Wii U Wii U Preorder Help...

I just preordered the game via Nintendo.com, and I received an email response saying I will recieve the code 72 hours after the game releases. I don't understand, am I not "preordering" the game? Why didn't they send me the code immediately to start preloading it into the Wii U?

i just bought mine 5 minutes ago off the wii u e shop and it is downloading as we speak, I dont know if it is too late, but I would advise to directly buy it on your console so you dont have to wait on a code

Thanks for response! Figured out, if I kept reading the email, it said that if you bought Super Smash Wii U the code should be sent minutes after the order is placed. So I'll have to wait...
