Wii U Lag Even With a LAN Adapter?

When Smash Wii U first came out, I played only with a wireless connection and for the first few weeks, i had 9/10 games comepletely lagless and it was overall great. About a month after the game came out however, I noticed that a LOT more than 9/10 games were laggy to the point of being unplayable. You would think that more people getting the game would only make the situation better, but it somehow got so much worse. Anyway, I finally bought a LAN adapter and while I'll very occasionally find a person that I can play multiple lagless games with, it doesn't seem to have changed my lag that much. I constantly read online how most people are still having a pretty decent experience, but I went from having 9/10 lagless to 9/10 full of lag, even with a wired connection. Is there ANYTHING else I can do to improve my situation? I have really good internet, no other games perform this badly online except for Smash, and i'm freaking out about this. Sorry for how long this was and I hope someone can help me out. Thanks!

I have the same experience. I think it mostly comes down to rather poor matchmaking by the game.
Your best bet is to try using something like Anther's ladder to find players to play against who you know you get a good connection to.

You could also try disconnecting everything else from your router other than the wii u, so you know that nothing else might be using resources.
