Wii U gamepad broke...

So were only two weeks away from SSB4 Wii U. And a few days ago I pulled out my Wii U and Gamepad which I haven't touched for almost 4-3 months now. The Gamepad was working great then. So I turn on my Wii U. Turn on my Gamepad. I try to tap my account to sign in and it doesn't work. I was confused for a while because the screen wasn't broken and all the buttons seemed to work fine. Then I saw a tiny ( And I mean tiny ) dent on the Gamepad screen. which I'm sure is the reason it isn't working. I gave up on this Gamepad knowing that they don't sell Gamepads I went to Ebay and the prices are ridiculous ( 175$ )

So now I have 2 choices which is why I made this thread.

1 - Buy a new gamepad for 175$

2 - Buy a new Deluxe Wii U for 329$. ( Currently have the 8GB Wii U )

I'm trying to avoid buying a Deluxe Wii U because my console works completely fine. But I do have a 8GB one and I don't know if that's really enough.

I need fast replies because I want to get the Gamepad ASAP.

That might be your best bet. I think if you sent it to Nintendo, they'd have you pay 175 or so as well.

If you were tech savvy enough, you can buy a replacement screen for around 20 dollars, but that's up to you. If that's not an option for you, I guess you'll have to buy a new gamepad. Maybe you can see any places that offer a Wii U for cheaper than that. Most places online should be selling it around 250 or less from when I last checked.

Actually if you are willing to upgrade your Wii U you can get a refurbished Deluxe with Nintendo Land for $200 in the Nintendo Shop. It might be more worth it for you because it's only $25 more than the Gamepad and you won't have to ship anything to Nintendo.

I heard about replacing the screen. But honestly, I would only make it worse. I'm still trying to decide. I don't "need" a new system. But more space would be great. But my current Wii U works just fine. So I'll just buy a new Gamepad I guess.

Thanks for helping :) !

Oh, just to let you guys know. I called Nintendo and apparently Wii U gamepads will be available to be separately bought in December.

That's newsworthy. Did you get anything in writing?
Nope. I wouldn't count on it though. I wouldn't be surprised If he was just trying to get rid of me.

I also changed my mind. I will be getting a Deluxe Wii U and the Smash bros bundle.
