Just bought a Wii u and pro controller and a Wii remote.

The problem i got is this

I want to play Super smash with a Wii remote because i dont like to move around with the joysticks.

So i go in to options to edit the button`s on my Wii Remote so i can jump with 2 and make B my special attack etc.

Works perfectly when i test the button layout inside the options menu but when i start to play the buttons are set back to default,

I set my jump button to be on 2 ( wii remote ), then i save and quit options then start a game. And when i click 2 the character does a special attack and no jumping. So it resets back to default when i start a game and its annoying as hell because i hate using joysticks for movement =(

When starting a match, do you select the name you set the controls to (hit 2 right under where it says Player 1/2/etc., then select the name)?

You gotta set custom controls to a nickname. You have to use the nick name you set the custom controls on to use the custom controls.

When you make custom controls you must create a nickname. Once you set your control scheme(in this case the wii remote) It will save under that nickname.

So when you go play smash/classic/all-star: click the red area under the "player 1" and a list will pop up with nicknames. Choose your nickname and you should have the control scheme you set up.

in events: choose the event, press y, and choose the nickname
In smash tour: press y and choose the nickname
