Hey, I've never posted in this section before, but I like reading the discussions that take place here =)
I used the search function and couldn't find any other thread like this (but please redirect me if one already exists).
Anyways, I wanted to look somewhat in depth at the aspects/future possibilities of wii online gaming. I'd like to know what everyone thinks of the overall online setup in it's current form, and what changes they'd like to see.
I personally have experience with ps2 and ps3 online support, and I have to say (with no disrespect at all) that wii's current online setup is a little behind other consoles. I own a wii and have played several online games including mario strikers, dragonball z, and other various titles. While I feel that the online menus/interface seem to be ok, other aspects of wii's online seem to be having problems.
These problems (in my opinion) include:
1) A lack of player to player communication
2) Somewhat choppy online play (except for strikers, which has run very well for me)
3) A lack of game modes (online seems to be a watered down version of off line game play in some cases)
These three complaints are the main things that worry me about the overall success/value of wii online gaming. With upcoming titles like Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, all of the small problems that exist with nintendo's wifi support need to be dealt with. Headset support and improved online modes (for me at least) are a must.
Well, that just my opinion on the subject of nintendo wifi. Feel free to respond to my post or to post your own opinion of the current online situation
Thanks for reading =)
