Hello, Im new here.
I just got a Wii (finally)

I read the instruction manual and the wii online help FAQ on this forum.

When searching for a wireless access point, I was able to find my college wireless connection "fortlewis", It had a good connection and did not have a locked Icon on it.

I proceeded to the system test, unfortunately, that is where I get stuck. it gives me the error code: 52230, and im not sure what to do now.

I consulted the troubleshooting section of the manual, and it said it may be a problem with a firewall.
but i have no way to follow up on this as its not exactly "my" connection (even though im paying for it)

Any suggestions? anyone know somebody who had a similar problem?

Well when I first started getting my wii online, I had tons of error messages. I got sick of trying over and over so I looked at the other options for getting online. The easiest thing to do (what I did) is to go to a Gamestop or an EB Games and ask one of the employees if they have a Nintendo Wi-Fi Connector. Chances are, they will. If you plug this into your computer, you will be able to access the internet channel/ shop channel without worrying about setting up your router or other things. All you have to do is click "agree" on the start up menu for it, and download. It will become a little icon for your computer in the bottom right corner and you can access it anytime by clicking on it. This way, you will be able to see all the systems that are connected to the Connector such as your Wii or Nintendo DS. After you put it into your computer, you can just go to the Wii Settings Menu and click "Online". Specify what connection you have (in your case it would be Nintendo WI-FI connection) and you can then run a connection test. It should work pretty smoothly and if you have problems with it, you can most likely bring it back to the place where you bought it and see if one of the employees knows what's wrong with it or what you're doing wrong.

Hope I've been helpful!
