My trouble is that when I'm playing Brawl the game has noticeable increased loading times and the disc is making much more noise then usual. Then the following error message like this comes up:

An error has occurred. Please press the EJECT button, take the game disc out and turn the power off.

My other games seem to work fine, albeit with slightly longer loading times. I'm going to try my SSBB disc in another Wii and see if it works.

Btw the first time it happened I was playing online normally then when I was on the practise stage, the error code came up. When I took the disc out and tried again, I could play for a while until the error message came up. Today I could play for a while again until it came up, and one time the error code up as soon as I clicked on Brawl on the Wii Menu.

Has anyone experienced similar issues. Did you have to send in your Wii for repairs?

Behind you.
Have you dropped your Wii or had it kicked about or something like that?

Are you up to date in firmware?

This kinda stuff has been happening to me for a long while, both before and after a roommate decided to throw it on the ground (he didn't actually do it like that, but, long story). Recently, as in post-dropping, it's been freezing up if I didn't have the correct firmware update.

...happened to me as well.

Nintendo says you should send it to them, so they can clean the lens of the Wii because it is apparently dusty. Brawl, being dual layered, makes the Wii hard for it to read it if the Wii lens is dusty.

(All that I got off the Nintendo Tech support or whatever it's called)

I sent my Wii to NOA to be cleaned, which they offer for free. You could try blowing in the Wii, (PLEASE, no puns) but my Wii eventually wouldn't play Brawl at all.

Hope this helps.

Yeah firmware is up to date and it hasn't been dropped, I just had to move it around a couple days ago.

I think I will just have to send it for repairs. Thanks for the help guys.

Tremendous bump, but it's better than making a new thread.

So two years later, I got a new Wii at a really good discount price by trading in my old one.

My question is, is it safe to play Smash on it? The problem before was caused by the Wii itself right and not the disc? My friend suggested getting a new Smash. But shouldn't it be safe to play because the problem was with the Wii?

Any advice is appreciated.
