Okay, so I know many of us(including myself) would like to get every bit of information as possible on nintendo's latest smash-fest. But do we need to know all of it?

Just this morning, we had a third-party character revealed, Sonic. Now that's great and all, but for me and I believe a few others, didn't expect this kind of information to come up so soon. Some people actually want to discover these type of things while playing the game.

I'm on and off about recieving information or not, but what do you think? Do you like to know now, or later?

P.S:Let me know if there was a thread of this already because I got tired of searching.

Sonic = biggest hype-inducing update they could have hoped to put in. They gave it to us early to sell more copies. Does it make a bit more sense now?

What I really want is for them to stop giving us Subspace spoilers. I liked the Team update, but any more details on that and I'll know most of the story before I ever play it!

Fair enough, but if you don't want to spoil the game for your self, just don't go on the Forums or Website.

For me, I'm not too bothered, I spoil things to myself loads. Like last christmas, I just couldn't resist to look in my parents wardrobe (they keep Chrimbo presents in there) and oh look, there's a Wii. So personally I couldn't be bothered.

The only thing that upsets me about knowing new megaton stuff is the fact that it makes the wait that much more unbearable, that is, as soon as the initial 'OMG' rush is over.

That's just it... I can't ONLY check the update when it's not story related, because I don't know when it is, or when it's not. I'm also terrible at keeping myself away from information on something I'm curious about. My only hope is that Sakurai maintains the level of mystery behind the majority of the plot instead of giving me more details.

Anything non-story-related, I want to see. Regardless of the fact that may spoil a few things. I love the pre-release hype. It's actually entertaining to make predictions and see how things play out. If it wasn't, would I even be in the Brawl Discussion forum?

And THAT is why they're giving us things like characters now. Build up hype, sell more copies, and get more pre-orders. Pre-orders mean high first-day sales numbers. High first-day sales numbers are a very good thing.

Good job pointing that out, but I'm just saying that some information is better left unsaid. Some updates are fine by me, like seeing a veteran return. And case in point of post: Nintendo has that habit of teasing us and I'm surprised that they're slowly breaking the habit.
