Red Steel is an insult to the Wii, the FPS genre, Ubisoft, and gamers. There are good games out! Red Steel, Super Paper Mario, TP, and Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2(whoo! mouthful) are just a few good ones out. I don't know what you're talking about.
I like red steel, and cannot wait for the sequel.Red Steel is an insult to the Wii, the FPS genre, Ubisoft, and gamers.
Fair enough, not a lot of FPSs do have good story's though. The story was entirely unimpressive
How was the control scheme bad? The only hinderance IMO would be turning speed, which is adjustable.I was constantly reminded that I was playing a game by the terrible execution of the control scheme.
Tacked on? It was elaborate and responsive. I could really tell the spent time on it. I don't really know what you expected them to pull of with the Wii's hardware, besides maybe 1:1, which I thought we determined was impossible. The sword fighting felt tacked on, and not at all what the hardware is capable of,
Well, you could adjust the "sensitivity" which actually just make the screen move faster when you get to the edge of the screen. That basically acheives what having a smaller bounding box would.and the aiming didn't have any options whatsoever to help make it feel more natural, like, say, adjusting the size of the "bounding box" (or whatever they call that).
Agreed, but does that really alter your opinion of the game? I mean, I was in it for the gameplay, not the artwork. The cutscenes were laughable,
Uhh... I dunno what standards you have for voice acting, but most FPS's and RPGS have really ****y voice acting, and I thought Red Steel's was actually quite good. It sounded very authentic and fitting to the character. The only character that had bad voice acting was the chick you were trying to rescue.the voice acting was terrible,
How did it not make sense? What made it bad IMO was how predictable and easy to understand it was. What didn't make sense for you?the plot in general didn't make a whole lot of sense, even for a ****ty videogame plot,
Well, it was pushed for launch, they didn't have time for that stuff. You can unlock 10 or so guns at the shooting range, but I don't know what kind of unlockable content you expect from an FPS.and there was no fun unlockable content.
The mechanics were the same as single player, and I don't have any problems with it. You use the Wiimote to aim, B to shoot, c to jump, z to crouch, and down on the d-pad to throw a 'nade, which you can do with motion sensing or without, and you shake the nunchuck to slash. Not that terrible. The maps had a ton of variety, and you can choose your bonus when your meter fills up, there are probably around 10 guns, and the maps are large and complex.Multiplayer was the weakest point, with terrible mechanics with no variety, few maps, and such.
I guess everyone has a different opinion, but I still don't understand how you justify calling Red Steel a disgrace to Wii, FPSs, gamers, and Ubisoft.Bad game.
