Ok, so in order to smash with friends, you need their Wii number. While totally cool with this, I have a concern. You can only have 20 things in the address book. Does this mean we can only have 20 Wii Numbers? Or will there be a function on Brawl that allows us to add numbers there (and hopefully have hundreds if not infinate space?)

That's an interesting point. I know I've read somewhere about registering people as Smash Friends apart from Wii Friends. Maybe this is what will provide an expanded if not unlimited list of friends to play/share online with.

Ok, so 100.

Still, that's not much. For some people it might be, but having upwards of 1,000-10,000 would be preferable. I don't even think that would take up more than 3MB.

Smash Bros. will probably have it's own friend list, in which case you will probably have to add a Super Smash Bros. Brawl Wii Friend code, rather than your Wii Console Friend Code. Screenshots have lead us to believe that we can have up to 64 friends on our friends list.

More evidence, in the screenshot, a 12 digit code rather than a 16 digit code is blurred out.

Look... it's quite simple... every online WFC game for the wii and ds use what's called FRIEND CODES... don't confuse these with your wii code. Your wii code is for your wii. Every online game you purchase has a unique FRIEND code for you to share with your friends in the exact same manner as your wii codes.

As of now you can enter 64 friends and you can remove them at anytime if you wish to make room for more active people you can play with.

How am I right? I didn't suggest anything haha. I can only hope though XD.
It looks to me like there are 3 friends on a page, and that in the screenshot, they are on page 3 of 64. So maybe we get 192 friends.

OR, maybe. Maybe he has added 64 friends already, and only 3 of them are online. Grah, that must be it! :p

Also, if you’ve finished registering someone as both a Wii Friend and a Smash friend, you’ll be able to send custom stages to each other.
I'd rather people research things than claiming people are stupid.

Mic walks in and just excluded a lump of liquid own on this topic.

On another note, that picture pretty much says 64x3. I can live with that.

Yes, there are roughly 100 Wii friends in the Wii's address book.

There are in fact 64 friend spots for Brawl PER MII, because if you see, the "3/64" is referring to the three friends that are in that screenshot, so that must be all the user has inputted.

The "1/4" on Bill's spot is referring to how many people are in the battle, since Bill is, after all, "SEEKING BRAWL". Poor Bill. He's lonely at the moment.

The new smashers that Nintendo is trying to market to probably don't know what to do with 64 spots, much less 192. Any other questions before I close this?

Well adding people from the board to avoid random matchmaking isn't unreasonable. I'm new here but I planned on adding at least 100 given the match making situation.

I'm wondering if I could have a four on four battle, but those I'm playing with don't have each others codes?_?
Because if that's the case, I'll either have to have the number's of my friend friend's to play with him, if they are playing to or to don't participate at all...
That would have sucked...

Locating Wii Friend Code...
-From the channel menu, go to the mail icon in the lower right corner
-there will be a memo option, a mail option and an address book option... go to the address book (furthest right icon on this screen)
-select register
-2 options should pop up... wii and others... Choose Wii
-enter the wii code of your friend and give then proceed to give them a name.

Locating Friend Code...
-you must connect to the internet and then go into your friends options on that specific game... brawl is out yet so NOBODY knows their BRAWL CODE... I also believe that a new number is created for each mii username that you "bring" online through connecting to the WFC connection of that specific game.

You need the Wii number for sharing stages. Not for playing the game.

And I think 64 friends is plenty, as long as you keep your list trimmed and don't add people you're never going to play with. Seriously, if you add maybe 40 people that play every day or two you'll never be lacking for a game, and presumably you can play with their friends too through them. That still leaves you plenty of spots for actual friends and whatnot.
