Wii Fit Trainer's True Purpose

When Wii Fit Trainer was first revealed, I thought it was a joke. Then I thought it was a terrible mistake, and then I was okay with the idea.

But only today did I realize her real reason for inclusion in the game, and now I think she is a brilliant choice. She has a higher calling that can be summed up in two words: event matches.

Seriously, think of all the interesting potential for cool event matches! Here are some that come to my mind:

1. Who is the healthiest one of them all: You play as WFT fighting 1 other WFT. Each time you hit one of them with an attack you gain healthiness, instead of doing damage. The first one to some preset amount of "health" would win. Basically it would be like a stamina match only if either you get knocked out or you knock out your opponent, you lose. You want to prove you are healthier not kill her.

2. Whip the losers into shape: You play as WFT against 3 randoms. It's a free for all in which your goal is to knock out all of your opponents. The catch is every time you attack an opponent they become healthier (which in this mode translates into jumping higher, doing more damage/knockback, etc.)

3. Burn off those pounds: You play as WFT against Wario. However the more you attack wario, the more he gradually warps into a Mario shaped Wario. Further as he transforms he begins to adopt some of Marios moves. Again you can't ko him, and you win once he completely takes on Mario's shape. If this is too absurd just have a straight up fight with Wario. Alternatively you could play as Wario.

4. Whip you into shape: WFT berates you about your weight and overall health for 2 minutes. Nintendo's tear detectors will cause you to loose if you end up crying in a corner. You also lose if you turn it off... otherwise you win.

Any else have some interesting ideas? I'm sure there are some creative ideas involving WFT's health obsession.

Just smart marketing advertisement. The more people who know about wft, the more people garner feelings for the character, more people buy her games, which equates to more fatties getting off their couches and exercising. Nintendo's just trying conquer the worlds obesity problem, gotta respect that.

That's probably her true purpose... well that and to promote sales of Wii Fit, but I still think she could have some interesting event matches.

Can't wait to whip the other fighters into shape, wonder what kinds of throws she'll have.

She will definitely be a selling point for the game, people will want the chance to play her just out of friggin curiosity for how she'd fight.

Megaman didn't surprise me nearly as much as her. I mean c'mon like 90% of the people on these boards had a support logo for him in their signature and people have been begging for his inclusion since forever ago, he was bound to be included if not in Brawl, which was starring Snake, then the next game without a doubt.

Wish I'd had your confidence about Megaman, but indeed WFT was far more surprising, and I really am curious how she'll play.
