Wii Component Vs. Composite Cables

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.. and I'm not exactly sure about everything I'm saying here so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

The TV in my room is like a 55" 1080p HDTV so the Wii always looks a little fuzzy on the huge screen, especially due to the fact that I play on Dolphin on my PC most of the time which is running at 1440p essentially. I understand the Wii's max output is 480p using the component cables, while the max output is 480i with the composite cables.

I'm currently using the composite cables (the white/red/yellow ones) and I'm wondering if the composite cables (the one that splits into 5 (?)) is worth buying. Basically what I'm asking is is 480p far superior to 480i? Will this be a noticeable difference? On a huge TV I'm not expecting anything great but should I go buy the component cable? I notice they're cheap on Amazon but do you need the official Nintendo ones or will third party ones suffice? Help would be appreciated.

It definitely looks nicer - and this may just be me, but I feel the sound quality from the TV alone when playing Smash is significantly better. Just go Amazon and third-party component cables work great actually.

the sound quality doesnt change ...does it?

tis still stereo audio over 2 plugs...

but yea, component is way better in my eyes. and my eyes are shoddy at best. if you have eyes that can actually see jaggies properly, youll notice it much more.

Component cables are amazing quality. I'm not certain if the sound is different (although could be anyways cus of higher quality cable material) but I noticed that too, and it's either that or the visuals or both but playing on component you get more in control.

Third party ones are great.

And definitely get component cables. It's not actually a matter of 480p looking better than 480i, it's just that component cables are simply a far superior method of transmitting a clear, detailed signal, than composite cables. Unless you have a crt with only composite inputs, there is never any reason to use composite cables.

Update: just got my component cable and I'm impressed. Visuals are much more vibrant, less blur, and sound quality is better. Definitely worth the $4.49 I paid.
