Why we're not at E3...

Whenever you're going into one of these big events, game developers have to weigh the positive benefits of media and industry coverage to the cost of taking the team down to the show, creating a special demo, and having producers offline for a while so we, in the case of Spore, have already been to E3 and we felt that we should keep the team focused on development.

I read this quote regarding Spore not being at E3, but I can totally see that as being Nintendo's motivation too. They do seem like they're working hard, at least to update the website every day. So I'm glad they're working through E3. Trade shows generally suck if you work in the trade.

But spore was at E3 or atleast annonuced some stuff during E3 including a trailer and an interview.

I agree with EPF. Why are people so negative about Brawl at E3? Sure, keep hopes low to be suprised, but now people are just saying: ' No, Brawl's not at E3 because the TV said so' or ' Brawl's not at E3 because a totally different company said this'

1) I realize a trailer can be done by another team. I fully expect there to be a trailer.
2) I'm not being negative. I'm being positive. It's relevant because this is one of the reasons why smash brothers is NOT playable at E3 this year. Because instead of pumping out a "meh" demo, the team is hard at work finishing the actual game. That's a positive.

Also, for those of you who think Smash Brothers will appear in full playable glory at E3 this year...
