Why no love for Dialga?

I noticed something weird about the pokemon featured in the recent smash bros direct, namely the main gen 4 legendaries.

Palkia was already confirmed as a pokeball pokemon before the direct.

Arceus had his own segment in the direct.

And Giratina was seen in the greninja trailer indicating that he as well is probably a pokeball pokemon.

Soooooo wheres dialga!?...

I know it's a small detail but it seems kinda lame how literally every other member of his trio is in the game but he isn't. He's one of my favorite legendaries too which makes his exclusion all the more disheartening. Anyway i just thought that this was kinda interesting, really hope he does end up being a pokeball along side the rest of his trio but it isn't looking good :(

We most likely haven't seen all the pokeball and master ball pokemon so I wouldn't worry too much. Especially since the legendary duo mascots always seem to be together performing the same roles in Smash.

Ho-oh and Lugia, Groudon and Kyogre, Dialga and Palkia (For Spear Pillar in Brawl) So I'm sure we will be seeing Dialga as a Master Ball pokemon too. (As well as Yveltal)

I find it a bit more interesting that we haven't seen Zekrom and Reshiram though. Will they also be Master Ball Pokemon or will they be a part of a potential Pokemon Black & White stage.... Unless I've missed them somehow....

Another possibility is that Dialga isn't there so that Palkia can shine. Dialga was always featured more, or had a bigger role. Plus, diamond was always more popular than pearl. It could be that they want to give Palkia the spotlight this time.

I think Kikwi's right personally, but this is a possibility.

Pearl was my first Pokemon game, so I have a special place in my heart for Palkia. Despite this, Dialga's sauropod-like design appeals to me more, and I do want to see him in.

Can somebody confirm that every pokemon released from a pokeball in that cutscene is actually a pokeball item pokemon?

Most of the pokemon shown in the trailer were already shown off in said direct, in one of the new screenshots released with the direct, or were pokeball pokemon in a previous smash title. The ones remaining are more than likely pokeball pokemon just by association.
Giratina, Zoroark, Inkay and snivy were the ones i caught that we have yet to see in action or a screen shot of

Hehehe i really doubt it.....

Were all the pokes shown in the melee scene items?
Onix lickitung weepingbell i recall?

I would strongly say no.
Lol, you can doubt it if you want to, but I have no idea what other thing I could possibly be referring to but the Greninja/charizard reveal. =P

I think he was saying how in Melee's opening there were a ton of Pokemon shown and not all appeared in-game.
Not sure how many in that shot actually do appear, would be interesting to know since we're just assuming all the Pokemon in the Charizard/Greninja reveal are pokeball Pokemon due to a very large majority of them being past pokeballs/revealed as pokeballs.

Right. That seems to be the common assumption, but I don't think it's a safe one.

I Really hope Zapdos and Ho-Oh and Lugia veturn.

There luigi's is fine so ho-oh in zapdos should be fine

And as for dialga I would not be suprised what so ever if not every pokeball assist pokemon was not shown
Dialga should be in moltres was not shown either cresselia will probably be one (darkrai and cresselia are connected)
Kyogre was in the trailer and groundon was not so groundon should be in due to Kyogre (and maybe rayquaza as either a boss hazard or downgraded to assist pokemon)
Entei was shown but not suicune nor raiku they should be fine

Edit more missing
The kanto birds are not shown they have ben here since melee
Kyorem is confirmed but not zekrom reshiram either they get to be hazard on a stage or they are pokeball pokemon as well

Temporal Tower stage with Primal Dialga as a stage hazard, make it happen.

Maybe only Dialga's Spear Pillar is a past stage?

probably not, I just hate the Palkia and Cresselia versions of the stage

No need to worry, we will probably see Dialga in the final product. With the inclusion of the Masterball, the chance of all legendary Pokemon shot up, which wasn't really needed since Legendary Pokemon have been stables to the series use of the Pokeball.

Sorry.
I actually agree with this, but I just despise the reversing directions thing on Palkia's stage. That messes me up every time. This alone makes me hate Palkia's stage.

Having the masterball really opens up the door to having lots of Legendary Pokémon debut and/or return from previous Smash titles. We could very well have just about every Legendary if were lucky, as the legendary list isent too exceedingly oversized. Even item-bringing Pokémon like Mew / Jirachi / Celebi / etc can all be in just for the sake of it, even if some do the same thing.

(My biggest hope is still Arcanine tho for masterball, (or pokeball, whichever your preferable appropriate lore is) Idc what it does, but it will be awesome :059: )

Also... what happens if Palkia AND Skull Kid are summoned at the same time... SCREEN FLIP-CEPTION!

I'm hoping that Spear Pillar is back and Dialga mans the helm solo this time. Dialga was actually fun on Spear Pillar, Palkia was a friggin menace.

Probably not gonna happen though.
