Did you know zero is the first person in the history of EVO to not drop a set. This got me thinking why is he so good? Is SSB4 an easy game or is his competition just not able to match and he is literally on a whole different level than everyone else when it comes to smash 4. Because I know this would not happen in melee, it has been around too long and the players who have played it competitively since its inception are so good that Zero would not possible win as easily as he does in SSB4. So why is he so good in this game does anyone have an answer?

Also his video about evo : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dqo0ZopXt1Y

This isn't the first time anyone has ever had such a dominating streak in a fighting game. Ken had an even longer streak in Melee, and Justin Wong had a longer streak in Marvel.

Like those who've had long streaks before it's simply, he's good.

I want to say that he has the finest of knowledge of frame data mainly with both Shiek and Diddy Kong and did everything in his power to master those 2 characters. Don't quote me on that since he also has other character info according to his Youtube For Glory series.

I don't think a one-liner will tell ya why he's so good other than...
Because he worked his *** off to get to where he is.

He prepares for like every possible outcome, watch his latest video. He prepared for who he would face in winners, and even in LOSERS. Yes, the dominating ZeRo even prepared for losers. He lives and breathes this game, studies frame data, range, combos, etc. Most people would probably just prepare a little bit, and then hope for the best, but not ZeRo.

I am actually not sure about this, I analyzed Nairo vs Zero at CEO Grand Finals and Nairo only made mistakes in relation to grabs, and Zero actually made a lot of mistakes and he still beat Nairo and convincingly as well.

I do believe Zero plays 12 hours a day. I mean, it is his main job, anyways. I think. While some of us mind spend only a few hours a day playing on For Glory, and maybe playing with some friends once in a while, and while the more dedicated may play about 6-9 hours a day, and play some other tournament-going players, Zero puts in even more work. It takes dedication and the support needed to spend that much time playing the game, in order to get to that level. He probably doesn't believe in "luck" when it comes to Smash Bros. He prepares for those situations many might call "lucky" or "unfortunate."

Also, he maintains a youtube channel and puts out damn good gameplay, even offering commentary and tips. So basically, Zero's great. And once you get that great, I'd imagine that it becomes that much easier to maintain the mindset that playing Smash and entering tournaments is a viable way to make a living. So yeah. He's set haha.

Zero is the first to become a god for smash 4 but he certainly won't be the last. Others will learn and catchup, it's only a matter of time. But for the moment, he is the "Ken" of smash 4.

Im pretty confused on where Zero stands in sm4sh. Hes certainly good, but I dont think its like M2k where he studied frame data and plays like a robot.

He is way too god in Smash and I was looking up to him, then I realised

Once you look up to someone, you can't overtake them.

Zero's also had the fortune of being able to play Smash a lot longer than most players with other commitments such as work (considering playing Smash 4 is pretty much his job). There's a varying number of factors which can prevent us from reaching the potential Zero has reached (such as work/ school commitments, location, affordability and so on) but I think given the right set of circumstances and a lot of hard work and dedication, it would be possible to get as good as Zero. I mean that's really how anyone gets good at anything.

Personally, I don't have enough time and am in a less than ideal location. I can't afford to pay lots of pounds to travel to tournaments, so I make do with playing when and where I can (for example I spent a lot of time playing strangers at EGX this year).

something I have noticed not mentioned yet is his mind games. seriously if you play mind games with ZeRo you will lose, I think that is the reason why esam says that playing ZeRo is so mentally exhausting, he wages these mental wars that take all of your focus and one screw up will land you down a stock really quickly. And considering the fact that smash 4 is such a mind game heavy fighting game this gives him a huge edge.

Excellent fundamentals and a top-tier character who excels at application of fundamentals.

Plus the mindgame things mentioned.

He seems to have a pretty analitical approach to almost every moment during his play, he has a fast and often very safe or optimized reaction to almost all situations, watch him play and put yourself in his place play by play and you will start noticing just how many split second but thought out decisions he takes! Not to mention he plays amazingly safe so he takes people by surprise when he randomly rushes in and upsmashes you like it is nothing, he just knows a lot about mentality and getting into your head, coupled with off the roof fundamentals.

Ridiculous obsession and dedication. Smash is his job and he obviously treats it as such. I'm sure he spends 8-12 hours a day studying and practicing. The vast majority of us don't do that, or can't do that because of other life commitments.

Combine that with the best character in smash and his natural talent and you have zero.

well, zero doesn't make mistakes (practice execution). and he fully grasps his character and many other characters, so your thinking of something when you fully grasp its parameters is so different than when there's still mystery.
when you can naturally feel the physics and mechanics, and don't think to consciously think about them, all that's left is strategy. he's been in enough situations so he can default to any of a number of solutions he already has from past experience.
because of all this he has time to focus on other things during the match, like opponents habits. opponents usually only one or two solutions to each thing, and they need to actively think about what to do. zero only needs to focus on how they responded the first time, and anticipate it when he does it again.

zero doesn't go on the attack, he likes to see what you're doing and respond to it, collecting information.
zeros da man
